Shelby Clark, junior marketing major, was the Editor-in-Chief of The Shield for the 2022-2023 academic year. Clark was the Editor-in-Chief during the 2021-2022 academic year, Digital Editor in Spring 2021 and a Staff Writer during Fall 2020. Clark also served as Chair of The Shield's COVID-19 Publication Committee for the 2023 special-edition magazine, "Unmasked."

In addition to her work at The Shield, Clark has been involved with organizations at the University of Southern Indiana including the Honors Program, Women's Choir and serving as a Welcome Week Leader and Welcome Week Team Leader.

In her personal life, Clark enjoys drinking coffee and going to local coffee shops with friends. She also enjoys exploring, traveling, taking photos, listening to music and creating social media content. She is a big Disney fan and stays up-to-date with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Star Wars franchises. Her favorite show not related to the MCU, Star Wars or Disney is "Gilmore Girls." Clark is the happiest when she is spending time with the people she loves.

“The Shield is the independent student publication at the University of Southern Indiana that allows students to serve their fellow students by providing a platform for their voices and documenting the University of Southern Indiana’s history through an unbiased student perspective,” Clark said. “Beyond the incredible mission and purpose of The Shield, working for The Shield has been one of the greatest honors and joys of my life because of the wonderful students who compose The Shield Staff. They are kind, selfless, passionate and dedicated leaders. They make The Shield the wonderful organization it is known to be.”
