Former student sues the university over disability discrimination
March 4, 2021
Seth Pressler, a former university student, filed a lawsuit against the university Tuesday for disability discrimination.
Pressler was asked to permanently vacate campus last October after the university expressed concerns about his Tourette syndrome.
Pressler said he is not ready to make a statement at this time.
Pressler filed a complaint against the university on February 26 and the university was summoned Tuesday.
The lawsuit alleges damage from disability discrimination by university staff, dean of students and the director of public safety, according to court documents.
The arguments in the lawsuit include that the university violated his 14th Amendment rights and civil rights, and denied him access to a public education because of his disability.
The university has 21 days from their summons to respond to Pressler’s attorney.
