Ghouls, ghosts, and goblins descended upon Carter Hall Friday.
But these monsters were looking for treats, not tricks, and found them at APB`s annual Halloween Bash. Fairy queens, mad scientists, and knife wielding psychos mingled together, eating ravioli and meatballs, sampling green punch and rocking out to everything from “Thriller” to “Drop it Like its Hot.”
Sophomore Phycology major and one of APB`s co-Vice Presidents, Dashia Wentz, was very pleased about the spooky event.
“We had a really good crowd, even if it wasn’t huge.” Wentz said. “They were all moving and dancing, and almost everyone came in costume. It was a really fun night.”
Vice President LaTrelya Griffin, a senior social work major, was also happy with this year’s crop of Halloween revelers, even if it wasn’t as big of a group as in years past.
“It went well. We could have had more, but a lot of students went to IU,” Griffin said. “It was awesome with the people we had though.”
While at the party however, you would not think it was a small group. Everyone there had enough enthusiasm to make up for about 10 people each, with music blasting and dancing and laughing echoing through the UC.
While there was a small hiccup when the DJ came late, APB members rushed to improvise, and made the night work anyway, using some quick thinking and an IPOD to save the night. Former President Gabriel Grady was impressed with how the situation was handled.
“A lot of what went on was impromptu, especially with the music. They did a really great job thinking fast.”
On the menu were Ravioli, chicken, chips, meatballs, and lots and lots of candy. Carter was decorated with spiders, spooks, and ghosts galore, giving it an atmosphere that was both freaky and fun. And as the night wound down, students headed out into the dark Halloween weekend in search of more tricks and treats, and APB students began the most terrifying part of the whole evening; the clean up after!
