The university announced a University of Evansville alum would fill the vice president for government affairs and general counsel role Monday, Oct. 20, which was left by Aaron Trump earlier this year.
Zach LaGrange will begin his new role at the university beginning Monday, Oct. 27, reporting directly to President Steven Bridges. In his role, LaGrange will be responsible for communication to all local, state and federal governments, as well as providing legal guidance to the university’s administration.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communication in 2002 before obtaining a juris doctoral degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2007 and a Master’s of Law from the University of Florida in 2008. LaGrange is currently a licensed attorney in New York and Indiana.
According to a USI press release, LaGrange brings 16 years of experience, including serving as the senior vice president and senior assistant general counsel at Old National Bank in Evansville. In his role at Old National Bank, LaGrange oversaw a team of attorneys and a paralegal who worked with local business leaders on strategic issues.
In the community, LaGrange is actively involved in many leadership roles. He currently chairs the board at Joshua Academy Charter School and serves on the board of Forefront Community Therapy, as well as previously holding leadership roles at Legal Aid, Evansville Bar Association and the Evansville Trails Coalition.
