With only four months left in the year, there are still films and TV shows to look forward to. Thankfully, the lineup includes a variety of films with jump scares, magic, romance and action.
Movies:

“The Conjuring: Last Rites,” directed by Michael Chaves, is set to release on Sept. 5. In this finale to the horror film franchise, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate one final case in order to remove a demon from a family’s home.

Nine years after the original’s release, “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” directed by Ruben Fleischer, will premiere on Nov. 14. Returning cast members include Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman. In this film, the four horsemen work with a couple of new illusionists to catch criminals.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” directed by Emma Tammi, will be released on Dec. 5. Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) notices his sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), is missing her “friends.” Also, yes, the animatronics are on the loose, so expect to experience some type of anxiety.

“Avatar: Fire and Ash,” directed by James Cameron, continues the story of “Avatar: The Way of Water” with conflicts arising with a new tribe. This sci-fi adventure film will premiere on Dec. 19.
TV Shows:
The most anticipated television shows are those with a little bit of everything, from town gossip to mythical creatures. Here are four to binge-watch.

Season 2 of “Nobody Wants This” releases Oct. 23 on Netflix with ten episodes to continue the love story of a rabbi (Adam Brody) and a podcaster (Kristen Bell). This modern retelling of “Romeo and Juliet” returns with Brody’s on-screen brother, actor Timothy Simons, and Bell’s on-screen sister, actress Justine Lupe.

“Landman” season two will premiere on Paramount+ on Nov. 16. Billy Bob Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris, is in trouble 24/7 because he works in the oil business. The first episode will be available for streaming on Nov. 17.

Broken into three parts is the final season of “Stranger Things” season five, which will all be on Netflix. Part one will premiere on Nov. 26, with four episodes. Part two is set to release on Dec. 25 with three episodes, and part three is a single episode set for Dec. 31. Is it safe to predict tears on Christmas Day?

The upcoming season of “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” premieres on Disney+ Dec. 10, with episodes dropping weekly to stream. Based on the trailer alone, season two will be an intense adventure filled with mythological creatures.
