SpringFest:
The Pott College Student Advisory Board brings excitement to campus with their annual carnival on the quad from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9. Students can enjoy free food and games provided by Pott College student organizations
The AP Block Party is set for April 9, with more details to be announced soon.
Asian Student Union, Japanese Club, and Chinese Student Union are joining forces for AsianFest from 2 to 5p.m. April 10 in Rice Plaza.
This year’s SpringFest Concert, featuring Willow Avalon and Kashus Culpepper, will rock Liberty Arena at 5:30 p.m. on April 11.
Willow Avalon, a rising star known for hits like “Homewrecker” and “Tequila or Whiskey” from her debut album “Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell,” promises an incredible evening of country and Americana music.
Kashus Culpepper will also perform, blending country, blues, soul, gospel and folk for a unique sound.
Study Abroad:
Several Study Abroad Information Sessions are scheduled throughout April in various University Center locations: 1 p.m. April 2 in 2207, 10 a.m. April 10 in 2205, 2 p.m. April 15 in 2205, 3 p.m. April 23 in 2206 and 2 p.m. April 29 in 2205.
Career Development:
Students looking to explore professional opportunities have several exciting events available to them.
The Pre-Law Club is presenting a special panel, “Day in the Life of a Law Student and the Road to Partner,” at 5 p.m. April 2 in LA 1004. Attorney Deiona Camargo and managing partner Alex Beeman will share insights into the legal profession.
The American Marketing Association welcomes Kelsey Dus, an IU Bloomington alumna and Marketing Director at Oswald Marketing, at 4:30 p.m. April 16 in BE 3033. This guest speaker event allows students to learn from a local marketing professional.
Social and Club Events:
The Student Veteran Association is offering two engaging events.
Their monthly meeting is at 1 p.m. on April 3 in the Student Veteran Lounge.
At 1 p.m. on April 10, they’re hosting a LinkedIn career growth workshop with a powerful film about veterans and PTSD.
The Honors Student Assembly Meeting on 5 p.m. April 8 in Forum 1 offers an exciting opportunity for high-achieving students. The meeting will discuss upcoming Honors events, point out opportunities and feature the Honors Student Council elections.
The Biology Club will hold elections and enjoy pizza at 6 p.m. on April 22 in ED 2108.
The Eagles Fencing Club invites beginners to try introductory fencing at 6 p.m. April 3 at the Recreation Fitness & Wellness Center.
Housing and Residence Life:
Housing and Residence Life is bringing excitement to campus with two engaging events.
At 5 p.m. April 3 in the HRL Office, students can “Pop in for a Good Time,” enjoy popcorn, soda and Nintendo Switch games.
Later that evening, the “Nacho Moves Extravaganza” at 6:30 p.m. April 3 in Newman Hall MPR promises a nacho bar and Just Dance fun with NewGov RAs.
Sports and Competition:
Gamma Phi Beta’s Moonball Volleyball tournament at 6 p.m. on April 10 at USI’s sand volleyball courts offers another exciting competitive opportunity. The event supports Girls on the Run, with 100% of the funds raised going to the organization.
Get ready for the 3rd Annual Students vs. Staff All-Star Basketball Game at 5:30 p.m. on April 16 in Liberty Arena. The Multicultural Center hosts this epic showdown, featuring a 3-point contest, knock-out competition, and live music. The event is free and open to all students.
Volunteer Opportunities:
The USI Theatre needs ushers for “Pippin: The Musical” from April 10 to 13. Volunteers must check in at the Box Office one hour before the shows.
The Ark Crisis Children’s Center seeks volunteers for their Fairy Tale Ball on April 11 and 12.
The American Red Cross Blood Drive on April 22 from 12 to 6 p.m. in Carter Hall.
