Theatre
USI will host “35 MM: A Musical Exhibition” at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 to 8 in Mallette Studio Theatre. This musical takes inspiration from Matthew Murphy’s photographs and imagines the story within them. USI student Rayn Miller is directing the show and it will feature Brynne Stevens, LillyBea Ireland, Ethan Hoover, Cooper Craig and Will Monroe.
“Love/Sick” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 and 15 and at 2 and 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at STAGEtwo Productions. These 9 short plays explore the experience of being in love.
The University of Evansville will perform “Clyde’s” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 18 to 22 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 16, 22 and 23. This play follows ex-convicts at a diner and a quest to create the perfect sandwich.
The Old National Events Plaza will host “Hadestown” at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20. Hadestown retells the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as they journey through an industrial underworld.
USI will perform “The Taming” at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 to 22 in the Mallette Studio Theatre. This political comedy follows a Miss America Pageant contestant as her political aspirations go off stage. The show is being directed by student Chloe Kummer and stars Ashlyn Thornburg, Jade Griffey and Abby Scheller.
“Disney On Ice presents Let’s Dance!” will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 to 22 and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 22 and 23.
“The Pillowman” a play by Martin McDonagh will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 to March 1 and at 2:30 p.m. March 1 at Gem Rock. When a series of child murders resemble Katurian’s stories, he finds himself under investigation.
Music
Cody Johnson will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Ford Center as part of his Leather Deluxe Tour. Special guests include Ashley McBryde and Drew Baldridge. Johnson is known for his duet with Carrie Underwood titled, “I’m Gonna Love You.”
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will perform “EPO: It’s Magic! Joan Ellison Swings In High Fidelity” at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 in the Victory Theatre.
“Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Preston Arts Center in Henderson, Kentucky.
“Dirty Dancing in Concert” will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Old National Events Plaza. This screening of the film will feature a live band and vocalists who will perform the movie’s iconic songs.
Rascal Flatts will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 as part of their “Life Is A Highway Tour” at the Ford Center. Special guests include Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane.
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will perform “EPO: Carmina Burana” at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Victory Theatre.
Hairball will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Victory Theatre. This event will feature homages to major bands such as Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey and Aerosmith.
The Old National Events Plaza will host “NARUTO: The Symphonic Experience” at 7 p.m. on Feb 28. An orchestra will perform Toshio Masuda’s original score to accompany a montage of the animated series.
“Mania: The ABBA Tribute” will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 in the Victory Theatre.
Art
“The Wheels on the Bus” will be on display in the USI Student Gallery from Feb. 3 to 14. Curated by Claire Kifer, the show features art from Ashley Banks, Payton Henn, Holly Karges and Delaney Smith.
Admission to the Evansville Museum will be free Feb. 7. The museum will have “Myra Schuetter: Fifty Years of Watercolor” on display until Feb. 9, the “62nd Mid-States Art Exhibition” on display until March 23 and “Fugitive Moments by Kazhia Kolb” on display until April 20. They also have works by Picasso.
The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana is hosting “Art on Tap: Live Portrait Drawing” at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Haynie’s Corner Brewing Company. The event, which is being conducted by Kyle and Jennifer Darnell, requires no prior art experience.
“Here You Come Again,” a show by John David Richardson and Emily Wiethorn, will remain open until its reception at noon Feb. 14 at the Shircliff Art Gallery in Vincennes, Indiana. Richardson is a photographer who teaches at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. Photographer and writer Wiethorn is an Assistant Professor of Photography at Mount St. Joseph University.
Memo will host “Galentine Jewelry Design w/ Jen Bretz” at 3 p.m. Feb. 15. The class requires no prior experience to participate and attendees will get to make 3 pairs of ceramic earrings.
The reception for “From Scratch: An Art Exhibit About Food” will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. The show will remain on display until Feb. 27.
“From Scratch: Bedford Collab” will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. There, DeAndre Wilson will present on the Bedford Collab.
Vincent Frimpong’s exhibition “Kilos Milos” will be on display Feb. 20 to March 21 in the Shircliff Art Gallery in Vincennes, Indiana. Frimpong’s ceramic works have been displayed across the US in both solo and group exhibitions. His artwork will also be shown later this year at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference.
“Work in Progress: From Scratch” will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana.
The tentative date for Art and Design Career Day is Feb. 28.
Comedy
Ginger Billy will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Henderson Arts Center. He is known for his YouTube channel which has almost 2 million followers and for his country-themed comedy.
Tom Segura will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 as part of his “Come Together Tour.” Segura is known for “Sledgehammer,” “Ball Hog,” Disgraceful” and “Mostly Stories,” all of which can be seen on Netflix.
