The Multicultural Center was established in 1994 by Pamela Hopson, interim vice president for student affairs. The MCC is located on the first floor of the University Center East building.
During the weekend, students and alumni will come together to celebrate the 30th anniversary.
The celebration begins Friday with check-in at 4 p.m. at the Performance Center ticket booth. A Welcome Mixer will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Dunn Lobby/Fireside Lounge, and USI Live at the Apollo will be held from 7-10 p.m. in the Performance Center.
Saturday, those who RSVP’d will check in at 9 a.m. for the Family Fun Day and cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Screaming Eagles Complex. In addition, attendees can tour the Screaming Eagles Arena, Screaming Eagles Complex and university campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Campus Store will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attendees can explore the campus on their own from 2-6 p.m. Later, a Cocktail Hour for 21 and older will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the Griffin Center, followed by a celebration dinner, recognition and dancing from 7-10 p.m.
Sunday, a sendoff brunch will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Fuquay Welcome Center.
