The Recreational, Fitness and Wellness Center (RFWC) has fencing up to begin the $12 million construction project. The fencing is blocking the main entrance, but students can still enter and exit the RFWC by taking the sidewalk near the Aquatic Center that leads to a different door.

The 2015 enrollment was taken during the first week of the semester whereas this year’s was taken in the fourth week. Therefore the data in the university Fact Book does not allow for direct correlation to find an increase or decrease in enrollment.

The university has updated its policy regarding areas on campus which are designated for “speech and expressive activities.” The locations are the lawn area south of Rice Library, the lawn area between the Physical Activities Center and the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center and the lawn in front of the Health Professions Building. The three areas combined are approximately 1.6 acres of the 1,400 acre campus
