Southern Indiana will travel to Bloomington, Ind. to battle Indiana on Oct. 26 in men’s basketball. The game will be the first of two exhibition contests against Division I schools for the Eagles, with the other being a Nov. 7 match-up against Tennessee in Knoxville.
USI went 23-8 last season under head coach Rodney Watson.
“This is a great opportunity to play a Big-10 team with such great tradition,” Watson told the school’s official website. “We also are grateful for this chance to play in Assembly Hall where so many historic NCAA basketball games have been played.”
Indiana is the reigning Big Ten Conference regular-season champion, led by head coach Tom Crean, who enters his sixth season at IU.
“I think the more you can involve institutions from the area during the exhibition season, the stronger it makes both programs,” said Crean in a prepared statement. “Our goal in scheduling our exhibition games is to find programs that will best prepare us for the upcoming season and both these teams will do that.”
