Coaches in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) voted the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds as its preseason pick to win the conference regular season title unanimously.
The vote, which came during football media days in St. Louis, comes after UIndy went undefeated (8-0) last season in the inaugural season of GLVC sanctioned football. Along with winning the GLVC regular season title, the Greyhounds advanced to the NCAA Division II playoff before being eliminated in the second round, and return 16 starters from last season’s team under fourth year head coach Bob Bartolomeo. The Greyhounds finished the 2012 season with a 10-3 overall record.
Missouri S&T was also voted unanimously to finish second in the GLVC standings after a 10-1 campaign in 2012, with its only defeating coming in a 54-35 loss to UIndy. Newcomer Truman State, rounds out the top three in the GLVC preseason picks. The Bulldogs went 4-7 last year in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).
