The power outage that occurred on campus last night affected wifi, student labs and some printing, said Richard Toeniskoetter, information technology executive director.
“They all tied back to the underlying network,” Toeniskoetter said. “We lost part of the network with the power outage. All of the devices on the network have IP addresses and the portion that hands out IP addresses to machines has gone down on the student side of the network.”
He said he’s pretty certain wifi is down on the main part of campus as well as the apartments, and he doesn’t know when it will be fixed.
“They’re certainly working this morning on it. They worked until 2:30 last night, went home to go to bed, and came back at 7:30 and they’re still working on it,” he said. “We’re pretty certain we will solve (the problem) today, but it might become a pretty long day.”
