Two local Schnucks stores may have had customer credit, debit card information compromised.

Schnucks at 3501 N. Green River Road and 8301 Bell Oaks Drive, Newburgh, are two of the 79 stores that may have been under a cyber attack.

According to the Schnucks press release, only the credit card numbers and expiration dates would have been accessed – not the cardholder’s name, address or any other identifying information.

The two stories were possibly attacked between Dec. 10 to March 29.

The Green River Road Schnucks general manager said they have not been made aware of any confirmed incidents at the store.

The Newburgh Schnucks general manager would not comment.

“Customers have asked me if it is safe to shop at Schnucks,” said in a press release Scott Schnuck, Schnucks CEO. “Yes, we believe it is, and we will work hard to keep it that way.”
