The International Club will host its Murder Mystery Dinner at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Carter Hall.
At the event, the seven International Club officers will dress up as various characters centered around this year’s theme: 1964 airplane flight.
International Club President Cindy Alfaro said the event is like going to a play, but the audience is in it.
The event is completely interactive with the audience, and the officers are able to practice their acting skills as the murder mystery is non-scripted.
“Everything is improvisation,” Alfaro said. “You would be surprised how creative the students could get – it’s amazing.”
With the audience being able to participate, the murder mystery is unique compared to other events held at USI.
“People are really excited about it because they get the opportunity to play detective like when you’re a kid,” said Amie Shipman, International Club vice president.
The audience is a vital part of the event, and they are constantly active throughout the night.
“The people that come, they get really into it,” Shipman said. “They go around and ask the characters questions.”
Along with an interactive show, there will be food provided for the audience to enjoy while participating in the event.
“We work with Sodexo to have food. So you aren’t just sitting there watching us act out this craziness,” said Brigit Calder, International Club program coordinator. “We’ll actually have some snacks, we’ll have drinks, and be involved.”
The murder mystery event is free and open to all students.
“It’s just a fun activity and it’s something to do on a Friday night if you’re stuck in Evansville or sitting on campus,” Calder said. “Come to this and be entertained.”
