Housing, meal plans to increase

Housing and meal plan prices are set to increase for the 2013-2014 school year after an approval from the USI Board of Trustees today.

Mark Rozewski, Vice President of Finance and Administration said housing increases will help to pay for apartment renovations on campus.

Meal plans also increased for all plans $40 a semster. He said the prices increases were a compromise between the university and Sodexo, which is the school’s food services provider.

He said the price increases are to compensate for the rising costs of food and so workers can have a small pay increase.

Housing prices for a two-bedroom apartment with two students per bedroom increased $51 per semester to $2,015.

Housing prices for a two-bedroom apartment with one student per bedroom increased $88 per semester to $3,600.

Housing prices for a one-bedroom apartment with two students increased $59 per semester to $2,430.

Housing prices for a one-bedroom apartment with one student increased $110 per semester to $4,515.
