The Panamanian Student Association (PANAS) hosts the annual Panamanian Carnival Thursday, April 9, in the Business and Engineering Center. This is a cultural tradition held before Lent. The event had music, dancing, and parades. Dianelsal Chirú, junior computer science major, said, “One of the most famous carnivals is Las Tablas Carnival, where two queens represent two rival groups traditionally known as Calle Arriba and Calle Abajo. The celebration lasts four days.”
