The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science:
On display at the Evansville Museum will be art exhibitions “Time/Manner/Place: Recent Work by Kathryn Waters” and the “48th Mid-States Craft Exhibition.”
“Time/Manner/Place: Recent Work by Kathryn Waters” will remain on display in the Begley Art Gallery, located at the entrance of the museum, until Feb. 1. Kathryn Waters taught art at USI for nearly four decades, and this exhibition features her numerous pastel drawings and oil paintings.
The “48th Mid-States Craft Exhibition” will be visible until Feb. 22. Juried by Maya Brooks, associate curator of contemporary art at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh and Winston-Salem, the exhibition features 42 artworks of various mediums. If the snippet on the museum’s website is anything to go by, the artworks will prove to be bold, colorful and experimental.
On Saturday, the 24th, the museum will host its Maker Super Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission to this family-friendly event is free and will include 3D printing and bobbin lace making.
MAC/PACE:
Located in the basement of the Liberal Arts Center, the Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries will display two exhibitions.
“Revelation” was created by Efroymson fellow Amanda Meuth. Meuth is a USI alumna who majored in photography and graphic design.
“Reflection: A Dialogue Towards Faith and Religion” was curated by Katherine Medina-Martinez, the 2025 Sanders Fellow.
The reception for both exhibitions will be held in MAC/PACE on Jan. 23 at 3 p.m.
The Evansville African American Museum:
“Community Collaboration with Sophia Okotah” is on display at the Evansville African American Museum. Okotah is an assistant professor of art and design at USI. The exhibition focuses on Ghanaian culture, which Okotah is deeply familiar with, having been born, raised, and educated in Ghana.
