• Priority Registration for the spring semester and summer sessions begins Oct. 20 and ends Oct. 24. 

Campus Activities

Commuter Student Appreciation Days will take place Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 at 11:30 a.m. on the University Center Patio. The event features free snacks, door prizes and special opportunities with campus offices. The first 150 students can receive a free lunch bag on both days.

Flowers on the Lake will take place Oct. 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the USI Labyrinth outside the main doors of the Liberal Arts Center. This annual ceremony honors those lost to domestic violence and raises awareness to recognize the signs of an abusive relationship.

The Multicultural Center will host MCC Power Hour Oct. 15 at noon in the MCC multipurpose room for intentional conversations about culture, race, identity and social issues.

USI will host the Inauguration Day for President Steve Bridges Oct. 16 in Liberty Arena.

MCC Success Series will be Oct. 22 at noon in the MCC multipurpose room. It is meant to assist students in navigating campus resources, including time management, study techniques and budgeting.

USI Live at the Apollo returns Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Performance Center. Students can compete for cash prizes in individual and group talent categories.

Greek Life

Fall Greek 101 will be held Oct. 19 at 9 a.m. in Carter Hall for new Greek Life members to learn about local and national Greek history.

Delta Zeta will host Family Day Oct. 18 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Virgil C. Eicher Barn with food to grill and yard games for families.

Kappa Alpha Order will host multiple fundraising events for the Independence Fund:

• Cornhole Tournament is Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. on The Quad. The tournament is $5 per person and $10 per team.
• Pie A KA for $3 per pie Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. in the University Center Breezeway. 
• Flag Football Tournament is Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the USI Rugby Field. To participate, it is $40 per team and $5 per person.
• Rose Ball 2025 Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in Carter Hall. Advance tickets will be $7 and $10 at door.

Housing and Residence Life

Churros and Horchata will be served Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in Newman Hall’s multipurpose room with Newman Hall and Governor Hall resident assistants. 

The event Bubble Bubble Floats and Trouble will feature tasty treats Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. in Newman Hall’s multipurpose room.

Academic and Professional Development

Study Abroad Information Sessions will be held Oct. 2 at 3 p.m., Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. and Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. in University Center 2205 for students interested in earning credit abroad.

The Institutional Equity Office is hosting Bystander Intervention Training, which will take place Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m. in Business and Engineering Center 0035, teaching practical tools for preventing harm and promoting respect using the 7Ds of Bystander Intervention.

Special guest speaker Detective Luecke from EPD Crime Scene Investigation will share his CSI experiences Oct. 14 at 3 p.m.  Graphic images will be shown.

The Health Professions Career Fair will be Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. in Health Professions Center 3122, connecting students with clinical and non-clinical healthcare roles, internships and career opportunities.

Activities Programming Board 

APB will hold general meetings Oct. 8 and Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Student Life Lounge to discuss upcoming events and involvement opportunities. They are also hosting:

• Pumpkin painting on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge while supplies last.
• The APB Bonfire will be held Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at Virgil C. Eicher Barn with hot chocolate, s’mores and music for students.
• All Season Wreath Crafting will be Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge while supplies last.
• APB’s Halloween Bash will be celebrated Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Virgil C. Eicher Barn and Grimes Haus.

Student Organizations

USI Pep Band practices every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Liberty Arena. No tryouts or auditions required. 

The Eagles Fencing Club offers introductory and regular practice every Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center Court 3. No cost or experience necessary. Equipment and instructions are provided.

USI Indiana State Teachers Association for Aspiring Educators will meet Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m. in Rice Library 1003.

The Panamanian Student Association will host Talent Night Oct. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Liberal Arts Center 1004.

The Association of Computing Machinery will host an event at Arcademie Oct. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring retro arcade games, food and networking possibilities with IT professionals. They will host Hackathon: Screagle Tank Edition Oct. 23 from 5 to 9 p.m. on the 2nd floor balcony of the Business and Engineering Center. To participate, it is $5 per team.

The Pre-Professional Health Club will feature guest speaker Kevin Valadares, professor and chair of graduate health administrations Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in Education Center  2108. In addition to a  Healthcare Professionals Q&A Panel Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Chinese Student Union will host Calligraphy and Tea Night Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. in RFW room 122, featuring traditional calligraphy and tea tasting.

The German Club will host Sport Machen Oct. 17 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Franklin Lanes. Shoe rentals are $6.

The Criminal Justice Student Association will host Board Games at Virgil C. Eicher Barn Oct. 21 at 5 p.m., featuring murder and mystery-themed board games.

Mu Gamma Pi will host a Halloween Escape Room Oct. 28, Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in Science Center 3250. The escape will consist of 45-minute time slots with groups of 4 to 6.

Health and Wellness

The Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center is hosting a Self-Care Station Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at a table in University Center near The Loft. Students can learn about wellness resources while picking up free stress balls and sleep masks.

The USI National Marrow Donor Program will meet Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Education Center 2108.

Tau Kappa Epsilon will host Risk Management and Hazing Training Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in Business and Engineering Center 0003.
