The Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries will host “Thinking Hands” through Oct. 19. This exhibition features works from the University of Southern Indiana’s art and design staff, which began Sept. 9. The exhibit is closed on Saturdays.
In New Harmony, the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art is hosting “Look Both Ways: 50 Years at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art.” This event began Sept. 6 and will continue on weekdays through Nov. 9. During this exhibition, they will showcase the evolution of the gallery through a variety of mediums.
Comedian John Crist will be at the Old National Events Plaza for his “Jokes For Humans Tour” on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. He is a rising comedian who had a personal record-breaking touring year in 2024. This show will feature special guest Derrick Stroup, a stand-up comedian and self-proclaimed Waffle House enthusiast who was featured on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Also on Oct. 2 is “Wild Summer Lights at Mesker Park Zoo.” This event will continue through Oct. 5 and will feature a brand Chinese lantern festival. Tickets can not be purchased at the zoo; they are only available for purchase online.
University of Southern Indiana Theatre will be performing “Grown Ups” Oct. 2 through Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Virgil C. Eicher Barn on campus. This play is about a group of camp counselors who are trying to shape future leaders, even though their future is looking more disheartening by the day. It will explore themes, such as how traditions shape us and how to change things even when there is a lack of hope. Tickets can be purchased in person or online.
The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science will have a “Free Friday” on Oct. 3. This event is open to the public every first Friday of the month with no admission fee.
Rodney Carrington, a stand-up comedian and country musician, will be at the Old National Events Plaza on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Aiken Theatre. Carrington’s show is recommended for mature audiences.
Also on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. is the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra’s TV Sing-Along Night at the Victory Theatre. This will entail an “Opening Night Pops” concert with classic soundtracks to sing along to.
On Oct. 10, the World Ballet Company will be performing “Cinderella” featuring 40 international dancers. This event will take place at the Old National Events Plaza in the Aiken Theatre at 7 p.m.
“Napoleon Dynamite: Live” will be at the Victory Theatre Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. This is the 20th anniversary celebration featuring an evening with Jon Heder, Jon Gries and Efren Ramirez, actors from the film, alongside a showing of the film.
Zach Top will be at the Ford Center on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. for his “Cold Beer and Country Music Tour.” This show features country singer Andy Buckner.
The University of Evansville Theatre is hosting “Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill: The Musical” Oct. 17, 18 and 23 to 25 at 7:30 p.m., along with a 2 p.m. performance on the 26 in the Shanklin Theatre. This musical is based on the book by Diablo Cody and features music from Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard.
STAGETwo@Studio321 will be hosting “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show” on Oct. 24, 25 and November 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 25 at midnight. This is a yearly tradition that shows a fun twist on this cult classic.
