Throughout September, art and entertainment events will be held in Evansville.
Beginning Sept. 8, the University of Southern Indiana will host “Thinking Hands: The 2025 USI Art & Design Faculty Exhibition” at the McCutchan Art Center and Pace Galleries. This exhibition will have digital media from 14 art and design faculty members. The reception is Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. The exhibition can be viewed through Oct. 19.
On Sept. 12 at 4 p.m., part of a free community series called “As Seen at cMoe” will be held by the Children’s Museum of Evansville. This interactive event will be held at Vann Pollack Park in Evansville. It is open to children of all ages, but an adult aged 18 or older must accompany them.
The “Victory International Film Festival” will start at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 and continue through Sept. 13. It will be held across three locations: Showplace Cinemas East, the Victory Theatre and the WNIN Old National Public Theatre. This event features a variety of short and feature films ranging from comedy to horror. Other festival activities will be spread across multiple venues on Main Street. On Sept. 13 is “Art Social: Simple Mark Making & Abstract Painting” at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science on SE Riverside Drive from noon to 2 p.m. This workshop, led by Sherry Grof, is for teens and adults to experiment with abstract painting and mark-making with acrylic paint. The cost to participate is ten dollars for non-members or five dollars for museum members. This event is limited to 15 people.
The Old National Events Plaza is hosting “16th Harvest of Quilts” on Sept. 19 and 20 at 9 a.m. This is an exhibition by members of the Raintree Quilters Guild, where they will share their work. This event has a ten-dollar admission fee and free parking. Alongside the quilts, there will be other activities such as scissor sharpening, raffles and various vendors. The guild will be accepting donations of personal items such as shampoo and hairbrushes for the Susan H. Snyder Center for women and children.
While not in Evansville, “Kunstfest” is a short drive away in New Harmony. This is a German heritage and arts festival. The festival runs from Sept. 20 until Sept. 21, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. This is one of the largest of this type in Indiana. More than 200 artists will gather to line the streets and showcase their art. There will also be food, live music, demonstrations and various activities for everyone.
“Fuschia Fest,” hosted by Fuscia Collective, will take place on Sept. 26 and 27 at StageTwo. This event features live music, art displays, vendors and food trucks. Day one will begin at 5 p.m. and feature ten hardcore bands. Day two starts at noon with 16 alternative bands.
The Vanderburgh County 4-H center will host the “Vanderburgh County Extension Homemakers Fine Arts and Crafts Show” Sept. 27 and 28. At this event, there will be handmade items such as furniture, quilts, jewelry and more. The entry fee is three dollars per person and children under ten enter free of charge.
