On Aug. 25, the first Student Government Association meeting of the 2025-2026 school year took place in the Liberal Arts Building. The new members were appointed and sworn in.
There were five new appointments at the SGA meeting. Alex Churchill, junior exercise science/pre-PT major, was elected as chief financial officer. Montreal Theory, senior psychology major, was elected as chief justice. Katie Hurst, sophomore health informatics and information management major, was elected as chief of staff. Samantha Fleischaker, senior political science and philosophy major, and Michael Solliday, senior computer science major, were elected as constructive members at-large. All of them were sworn in during the meeting.
The new student representatives for the College of Liberal Arts and Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions were interviewed by members of the general assembly.
Four people volunteered to be representatives for the College of Liberal Arts and one for the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. The general assembly has elected one student to the vacant Kinney College representative seat and two students to the vacant Liberal Arts representative seats. Election results will be announced at a later time.
