SpringFest returns to campus for 2025 with various campus events

The SpringFest concert for 2025 will take place on the evening of April 11 at Liberty Arena. The concert lineup includes country singer Kashus Culpepper opening and country singer-songwriter Willow Avalon headlining.

SpringFest, the annual event hosted by the Center for Campus Life, will run April 9-11 this year. This event was created to celebrate the end of the academic year and this year will include the Pott College Carnival, APB Block Party, Asian Fest, and SpringFest Concert. 

The Pott College Carnival, another annual event hosted by the Pott College Student Advisory Board, will include free food and games. This carnival will be on April 9 on The Quad from 11 am – 1 pm. 

Asian Fest is an event hosted by the USI Asian Student Union, Japanese Club and the Chinese Student Union. This event will be on April 10 in Rice Plaza from 2 pm – 5 pm.

The SpringFest Concert this year features country singer-songwriter Willow Avalon. The concert will also feature country singer Kashus Culpepper. This concert will be on April 11 at 6 pm, with the doors opening at 5:30 pm. Tickets to this concert are free for USI undergraduate students, $10 for faculty and staff and $15 for the public.

Abigail Durham, freshman undecided, was a Staff Writer for the 2022-2023 academic year. Durham joined The Shield in October 2022.  Durham was involved in the Dance Team on campus. Her favorites are “La La Land,” “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Knives Out,” “The Greatest Showman,” “Friends,” “That 70’s Show,” “New Girl,” “Gilmore Girls,” “The Good Place” and “Jane the Virgin.”  “I like working for The Shield because I like contributing to coming up with ideas for content with teams and being able to know about and have an opinion on many aspects about campus,” Durham said.
