What are you doing for spring break? There are many fun things to do within a few hours of Evansville to see and attend over spring break.
Caves:
Looking to get some walking in this break? Caves tours are a great way to get out and explore. Make sure to bring a light jacket if you do go, because all the caves stay below 60 degrees.
Located in Marengo, Indiana, Marengo Cave offers two tours year-round. The cave has been open for tours since its discovery in 1883, and is also a U.S. National Natural Landmark. Marengo Cave also has activities above ground like pedal karting, a mega maze, the sky climber, mini glow putt putt golf and gift shops.
If you’re looking for a double feature, 29 miles south of Marengo Cave is Indiana Caverns, located in Corydon, Indiana. Indiana Caverns is the longest cave in Indiana. Indiana Caverns also offers above ground activities like the Bat Chaser zip coaster, the Plunge, Escape Rooms, Gemstone Mining, and more.
Squire Boone Caverns, located in Mauckport, Indiana, while one of the shortest of the cave tours, is rich in history with the area and its discovery. While it won’t be open for spring break, Squire Boone Caverns also has a village with multiple shops to visit that open after Memorial Day that is worth a second trip.
