Kristen Tucker, the keynote speaker, presents at Art and Design Career Day Friday in David L. Rice Library room 0017. Tucker is the co-founder of Tucker Publishing Group, which produces the magazines Evansville Living and Evansville Business.

Held Friday, in the lower level of the David L. Rice Library, this year’s Art and Design Career Day saw 5 locals, that work in the creative sector, present.

This year’s guest presenters were: publisher and editor Kristen Tucker, graphic designer Amanda Fehr, director Chris Weatherly, graphic designer Mark Brendel and fashion designer Emily Gartner.

Nico Armeanu, Arts Editor
Nico Armeanu is a junior studio art and German major. Armeanu joined The Shield in Spring 2024 as a photographer and now serves as the arts and entertainment editor. Armeanu was the district winner at the 2022 Congressional Art Competition and won the freshman award in USI’s 53rd Annual Juried Art Contest. In 2023, they won best in show for the teen category at the Wesselman Wood’s Juried Art Contest. Armeanu spends most of their free time making art. Outside of that, they enjoy swimming, playing guitar and working on DIY projects.
