Last week’s Student Government Association meeting began with a roll call, followed by Vice President Alicia Cotton temporarily assuming the role of President due to Tamia Smith’s absence.
When an executive member is absent, the rest of the executive board must vote on whether the absence should be excused. The vote to excuse Smith’s absence was unanimous.
Following the roll call, Simran Singh, student event supervisor, presented different ways to reserve spaces on campus. Singh oversees the logistics of campus events.
“Essentially, anything that happens on campus goes to my desk so I can start planning the logistics of the event,” Singh said.
Singh’s office is available by appointment via email. More information on planning events can be found at usi.edu/special-events.
The meeting concluded with Cotton asking each executive board member for any new or old business.
