Career Help
Career events include a Career Fair Preparation Workshop on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. in Orr Center Room 2008. This workshop provides guidance on making great first impressions, preparing introductions, researching employers, following up after the fair and professional attire.
The Internship and Career Fair takes place at 2 p.m Feb. 26. in Liberty Arena. This event connects students of all majors with employers offering internships, part-time and full-time positions. Career Services offers preparation assistance through Career Launch appointments, covering resume review, employer interactions, interview skills, salary negotiation and internship credit information.
Social Events
A Pizza Party featuring Nintendo Switch and board games will be hosted at 6 p.m. Feb. 5 in the HRL Community Center.
Asian Student Union has 3 fun events coming up: Lunar New Year at 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at the BE Lakeside Lounge, Emochi Chat at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 in UC 2207 and Squid Games at 5 p.m. Feb 21 in the REC.
Biology club is hosting a Cookie Decorating Contest combined with club updates on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in ED2108.
Study Abroad
Several Study Abroad Information Sessions are scheduled throughout Feb. in various University Center locations: Feb. 6 at 3:00 p.m. (UC 226-227), Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. (UC 2205), Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. (UC 226-227), and Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. (UC 2205).
A special “Gilman and Chill” event on Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. in UC 2207 offers personalized feedback on Gilman Scholarship applications, along with hot cocoa and shortbread cookies.
Study Abroad Day will be celebrated on Feb. 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the UC Breezeway with “Tea Around the World.” This national initiative showcases global education’s impact through tea tastings from various countries, connecting beverages to study-abroad opportunities while supplies last.
University Events
Family Weekend takes place Feb. 8, offering various activities for all ages. Some events require separate tickets, available through the USI Family Weekend payment portal. Special events like Paint and Sip and Prep Your Meal require punctual attendance.
The housing selection deadline approaches on Feb. 17. Current residents must complete their housing contracts and ensure roommate groups match room requirements by this date. Any pending invites after the deadline won’t be considered in room selection.
