Guest speaker saying grace before attendees are served lunch Monday at Carter Hall in University Center West.
The Multicultural Center hosted their annual Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Luncheon Monday at Carter Hall. The event was held to honor his legacy and what his contributions during the civil rights movement period. Mayor Stephanie Terry, the first black woman elected to this county’s council before becoming mayor, was the honorary guest and keynote speaker. Her presentation, “A Blueprint for the Future,” explained that when a community unites, they can fix injustice.
