Attendees await the start of the College of Liberal Arts, Romain College of Business and School of Graduate Studies commencement ceremony Saturday in the Liberty Arena.

The Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony for the School of Graduate Studies, the College of Liberal Arts and the Romain College of Business was held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Liberty Arena.

The commencement address was delivered by Tamara Hunt, professor emerita of history, who received this year’s USI Distinguished Professor Award.

Nico Armeanu is a junior studio art and German major. Armeanu joined The Shield in Spring 2024 as a photographer and now serves as the arts and entertainment editor. Armeanu was the district winner at the 2022 Congressional Art Competition and won the freshman award in USI’s 53rd Annual Juried Art Contest. In 2023, they won best in show for the teen category at the Wesselman Wood's Juried Art Contest. Armeanu spends most of their free time making art. Outside of that, they enjoy swimming, playing guitar and working on DIY projects.
