The USI women’s basketball team has returned from a two-game road trip in Kentucky for the first of a three-game homestand. The first game was on Friday night against the Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers. The night’s theme was Women Empowerment, featuring pregame shirts worn by the players and the dress of the USI cheer team.
Despite turning the ball over 20 times against the Grenadiers, USI beat its opponent through tough defense and a solid offensive performance. Triniti Ralston, sophomore guard, scored a team-high 19 points, while Meredith Railey, graduate forward, and Lexi Sepulveda, freshman guard, scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
