Prime Time Pub and Grill in Newburgh will host a Christmas Murder Mystery party at 6 p.m. Dec. 5. The $45 ticket includes dinner.
STAGEtwo Productions will perform “The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6-7 and at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 8.
Cirque Musica: Holiday Wonderland will be held Dec. 10 at the Victory Theatre. The event aims to combine circus performances with holiday music.
Ballet Indiana will perform “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 and 2 p.m. Dec. 15. at the Victory Theatre.
A Magical Cirque Christmas will be held at the Old National Events Plaza at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19.
Music
The a cappella group Straight No Chaser will perform at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Old National Events Plaza. The nine-man group is best known for its Christmas music.
The university’s World Language and Culture department invites the community to attend its Holiday Sing Along from noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Liberal Arts Center labyrinth.
The 53rd Annual Madrigal Feaste will take place Dec. 5-8. Shows on Dec. 5-7 begin at 6:30 p.m., while the show on Dec. 8 begins at 12:30 p.m. Members of the USI Chamber Choir will perform old English and Irish Madrigals, folk songs and holiday choral selections while wearing period costumes.
Germania Maennerchor will hold a traditional German Christmas dinner at 7 p.m. Dec. 6-7. The event will feature choral music and a pageant.
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra Peppermint Pops will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8. They have encouraged attendees to bring donations and food for the Tri-State Food Bank.
Bokeh Lounge will host a John Lennon Night from 6-11 p.m. Dec. 8. The event is presented by Veterans for Peace, and its proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders and Save the Children.
There will be a Jazz Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Performance Center. It will feature music from Duke Ellington and other Jazz artists.
Wolfgang Orchestra and Chorus will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Central High School, at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at North Posey High School and at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 15 at First United Methodist. The free event aims to support the Vanderburgh Humane Society, Toys for Tots and River Bend Food Pantry.
Evansville Music Academy will host a student open mic night at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 16,
Lindsey Stirling will perform at the Old National Events Plaza at 8 p.m. Dec. 21 as part of her “Snow Waltz Tour.” She is known for dancing while playing the violin.
The Marcus King Band will perform at the Victory Theatre on Dec. 29. The South Carolina band is known for their albums “Soul Insight” and “Carolina Confessions.”
Art
USI’s Art Club will host an art sale from 2-5 p.m. Dec. 4-5 in the University Center West lobby. All art club members are welcome to come and sell their artwork there. The membership fee is only $5.
The Senior Seminar Exhibition will take place from Dec. 6 to Jan. 10 in the Arts Center. The reception will be held on Dec. 14 after the College of Liberal Arts’s commencement ceremony. The show will feature artwork from this year’s graduates: Ashley Banks, Hannah Dupuy, Jenny Hottel, Kelley Leavens, Madison Mayes, Mason Niemeier, Mikayla Scatterfield, Ashley Staib, Violet Thomas-Cummings, Shelby Trotter and Zachary Winger.
Admission to the Evansville Museum will be free Dec. 6. The museum has several shows on display, such as “Moments & Memories: Paintings” by Justin Vining until Dec. 29 and “Myra Schuetter: Fifty Years of Watercolor” until Feb. 9. It also has works by Picasso on display.
Movies
Macaulay Culkin will come to the Old National Events Plaza for a screening of “Home Alone” Dec. 4. A Nostalgic Night with Macauley Culkin will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the movie and will be followed by an interview and Q&A session with the actor.
As part of the Friday Night in the Forum series, “Seven Samurai” will be shown at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 in Forum 1 of the Wright Administration building. This 1954 Japanese film is about seven samurais who find themselves working together to protect a village. Although the film will be in Japanese, there will be English subtitles.
