Halloween is fast approaching, and so is the need to fill our candy buckets with treats. To celebrate the Halloween season, our staff shared some of their favorite candies.
Ian Young, Editor-in-Chief
Skittles have been Ian Young’s faithful companion since childhood, showing that some childhood favorites never lose their appeal.
“Even if they aren’t the healthiest thing to have, I still to this day have cravings to taste the rainbow once in a while,” Young said.
Aracely Chavez, News Editor
For Aracely Chavez, nothing beats the classic taste of Hershey’s chocolate.
“It’s always been my go-to candy,” she said. “Chocolate can go with anything.”
Nico Armeanu, Arts Editor
Butterfingers hold a special place in Nico Armeanu’s heart.
“I like the crunch of the peanut butter,” Armeanu said. “Plus, peanut butter and chocolate are a classic combo for a reason. It’s hard to mess it up!”
Kai Harris, Visual Editor and Cartoonist
Kai Harris appreciates the tried-and-true combination found in Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
“I like Reese’s because of the balance of sweet and salty,” he said. This balance makes these peanut butter cups irresistible to Harris.
Will Kessinger, Sports Editor
M&M’s are Will Kessinger’s lifelong favorite.
“I love to pair them with popcorn when I watch movies and sports,” he said. “Something about that combination appeals to my soul.”
Tegan Ruhl, Lifestyle Editor
Butterfingers are also Tegan Ruhl’s candy of choice, but with a twist.
“I like to put them in the freezer for a bit because they taste better cold and crispy,” she said.
Chloe Barrett, Assistant Content Creator
Chloe Barrett’s candy preferences have evolved over the years.
“I used to love Hershey’s; that would be my favorite of all time,” she said. “But over time, as my taste buds changed, and as I got older, now anything Snickers is my go-to candy because it reminds me of Hershey’s but with chocolate and peanut butter with just a hint of caramel — way better than just chocolate.”
