Stage Two Productions will put on the Halloween classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” Friday, Saturday and Nov. 1-2. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. both days and midnight Nov. 2
Evansville Civic Theatre will perform “Rope” from Nov. 1-3 and Nov. 8-10 in the Benjamin Bosse High School auditorium. Shows on Friday and Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday shows begin at 2 p.m. This English play is set in 1929 and follows two college students who have decided to commit a murder.
“TINA: The Tina Turner Musical” is scheduled for Nov. 4 at the Old National Events Plaza. This biographical jukebox musical begins at 7:30 p.m. and features many of Turner’s songs.
Gem Rock will host the “One Act Festival” from Nov. 14-16. This festival will feature two plays: “The Dumb Waiter” and “Zoo Story.” “The Dumb Waiter” is scheduled for at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and Nov. 16. “Zoo Story” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 16.
“The Dumb Waiter” is a one-act play centering around two hitmen waiting to receive orders on who their target is. “Zoo Story,” another one-act play, follows two New Yorkers in Central Park.
Gem Rock plans to feature local artists and vendors Nov. 16.
Music
Vocal group The 5th Dimension will perform at the Victory Theatre at 7 p.m. Nov. 2. They are best known for their song “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In.”
The Romain College of Business’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee will host a Culture Lunch Nov. 7. There, Bohan Ye, assistant professor of economics, will put on a Chinese opera demonstration. The event will take place in the Business and Engineering Center Atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include a free lunch.
The Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concert will take place Nov. 10 in the Victory Theatre. They will play music from Berlioz, Offenbach, John Williams, Copland and Stravinsky. Admission is free for children and students.
Country singer and rapper Jelly Roll will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Ford Center as part of his “Beautifully Broken” tour. He is best known for his song “Save Me.”
Folk band Trampled by Turtles will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Old National Events Plaza.
Bee Gees Gold: The Tribute will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Old National Events Plaza.
R&B singer Ginuwine will perform with special guest Toni Romiti at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Victory Theatre. He is probably best known for his 2005 album “Back II da Basics” or his song “What’s So Different?”
The Morpho, Amblare and Truck Show will take place Nov. 25 at Gem Rock and will feature music from three indie bands. The event begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10.
Art
Admission to the Evansville Museum will be free Nov. 1. The museum has several shows on display, such as “Made in Evansville,” which will be up until Nov. 24, “Moments & Memories: Paintings” by Justin Vining until Dec. 29 and “Myra Schuetter: Fifty Years of Watercolor” until Feb. 9. They also have a Picasso painting.
The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana will host “Artist Talk Info Session: “Don’t Be a Starving Artist” Nov. 19. The event aims to help artists develop the skills they need to support their businesses. Although the event is free, the deadline to register is by 5 p.m. Nov. 17. Doors will open at 5 p.m., but the event is set to start at 5:30 p.m.
Movies
All events in the Friday Night in the Forum series begin at 7 p.m. and take place in Forum 1 of the Wright Administration building.
- Nov. 1: “Playtime” (1967). This satirical comedy takes place in Paris and follows the bumbling journeys of a Frenchman and an American tourist.
- Nov. 8: “Fallen Leaves” (2023). This Finnish romantic comedy is about love and life’s challenges.
- Nov. 15: “La Dolce Vita” (1960). This satirical comedy-drama follows a tabloid journalist.
- Nov. 22: “A Zed and Two Noughts” (1985). This dark comedy-drama follows identical twins (and zoologists) after the deaths of their wives in a car accident.
WNIN will host the Unearthed Film Tour Nov. 18 as part of Indiana Humanities’s multi-city film tour. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the screening will begin at 6 p.m. These eight films were created by Hoosier filmmaking teams, and all have environmental themes. After the films, there will be a 30-minute Q&A session.
