April Ryan to keynote MLK, Jr. Luncheon

White House reporter April Ryan will give the keynote address at the university’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 20 in Carter Hall.

Ryan is a journalist, political correspondent and award-winning author. Since 1997, she has covered the four presidential administrations for American Urban Radio Networks, serving as the only black female White House correspondent.

She was also named the recipient of the Freedom of the Press Award by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in 2019 and Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists in 2017.

Tickets are now available for students and employees and will be available to the public on Monday. All tickets can be purchased on the USI website or at the Multicultural Center. Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for employees and $20 for the general public.
