The Performing Arts Department and the College of Liberal Arts will be welcoming award-winning actress Rutina Wesley to Evansville for the 2019 Community of Scholars Lecture. 

The lecture will be held Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Performance Center. Wesley will speak about her acting career and answer any questions participants may have. The event is free and open to the public. 

After graduating UE, Wesley attended Julliard School in New York City and spent a summer at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where she played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. Since then, Wesley has appeared in numerous stage, television and film roles. She currently stars in Oprah Winfrey Network drama series Queen Sugar.
