‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ to tackle sexual assault, gender violence

The university will host the Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event Apr. 9 in at 5:30 p.m. in Carter Hall in University Center West. The Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group and Albion Fellows Bacon Center will help with the International men’s March to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Registration begins at 5 p.m.

The event takes the literal meaning of the name, where the male participants walk a mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. Women and children are also allowed to participate. The event is held to raise awareness of rape, sexual assault and gender violence at the university.
