Provost Mohammed Khayum has appointed Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Michael Dixon as interim director of Graduate Studies. The one-year appointment is effective Monday, April 1 and a national search for a permanent appointment will be held in spring 2020.

Current director Mayola Rowser will step down on May 1 to become the dean of Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College in St. Louis, Missouri.

“Michael Dixon is a highly regarded member of our community whose intellect, professionalism and work ethic are hallmarks of his contributions to the University,” Khayum said in a press release. “I fully expect that he will continue to utilize these qualities in his new role as interim director of Graduate Studies.”

As interim director for Graduate Studies, Dixon will report to the provost.
