The university’s theatre program posted the four productions lined up for the 2015-2016 season on their website.
Oct. 15-18
USI Theatre will present “Grapes of Wrath,” a play by Frank Galati based on the novel by John Steinbeck.
“Grapes” is set during the Great Depression and follows a family of tenant farmers.
Chair of the Performing Arts Department Elliot Wasserman will direct the production.
Nov. 19-22
USI Theatre will present “Tartuffe” by Molier, translated to English by Richard Wilbur.
Originally French, “Tartuffe” is a comedy first performed in 1664.
Assistant Professor of Theatre Eric Altheide will direct the play.
Feb. 18-21
In cooperation with New Harmony Theatre, USI will present “Arcadia” by Tom Stoppard.
Wasserman will direct the contemporary, philosophy-infused play.
April 14-17
USI Theatre will present the musical production “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
“Putnam” was originally directed and produced on Broadway and is a comedy portraying six students competing in a spelling bee.
Altheide will direct the musical.
All four aforementioned productions will be in the university’s performance center in UC East.
