President Linda Bennett announced the appointment of Steven Bridges as vice president for finance and administration. He will assume official duties immediately.

The vice president for finance and administration reports to the president and serves as the university’s chief business and fiscal officer.

Bridges will provide strategic leadership and professional development for the university’s Budget Office, Business Office, USI Foundation, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Physical Plant, Public Safety, Campus Store, Distribution Services, Travel, Risk Management and Procurement. He will also share operational responsibility for Housing and Residence Life and Internal Audit.

Bridges received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from USI in 1988 and began working for the university in 1989 as a staff accountant. He worked his way up to bursar, chief accountant, controller and assistant Business Office director. Along the way, he earned his master’s degree in business administration from USI.
