The House Republican’s proposed budget for the next biennium allows for the financing of $36 million to cover the construction of the regional medical school campus planned for Downtown Evansville.

The funding is one aspect of the House’s version of the budget revealed Monday.

The state would provide $32 million to cover the cost of construction for IU, Ivy Tech and USI, while University of Evansville would pay $4 million.
