Lot C is currently undergoing renovations, but the removal of trees and installation of flowers isn’t what has some students budding exasperation.
The renovations are taking place in phases and will last throughout the rest of the semester.
For a mostly commuter campus that already expresses a hefty amount of platitudes as it is, blocking off that many parking spaces at one time may not have been the smartest option.
While time is of the essence when it comes to removing gravel and making a parking lot look somewhat appealing, the plan to renovate should have included more phases – even if that means carrying the project over into another semester.
More phases in the project would mean that fewer parking spaces that would have to be marked off at one time.
As a commuter school, the focus should be more on convenience for those students who rely on those parking spots being available, instead of worrying about how much time it will take to complete the project.
