Board of Trustees meet on campus for ‘confidential meeting’

The Board of Trustees met in Executive Session Friday morning in the University Suite in University Center West.

“It’s a confidential meeting,” President Linda Bennett said when approached by The Shield about the nature of the meeting.

A sign on the door read: “DO NOT ENTER. Executive Session in Progress.”

Board of Trustees Chair Ted Ziemer, Board Member Ron Romain, Student Member Brenden Davidson, Vice President for Finance and Administration Mark Rozewski and Bennett attended the meeting, among others.

Rozewski carried what looked to be construction plans out of the University Suite at 9:37 a.m., accompanied by Bennett and an unknown man.

“Thank you for coming,” Rozewski said to the man.

9:20 a.m.: Three board members exited the University Suite, including Davidson.

9:18 a.m.: Romain left the meeting.

8:48 a.m.: Ziemer left the meeting in a hurry.

7:30 a.m.: The meeting began.

Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Communications Kindra Strupp said she had not been briefed about the meeting in an email Thursday.

Vice President for University and Government Relations Cynthia Brinker had no information about the meeting.
