Two USI men’s tennis players, junior Jack Joyce and sophomore Aaron Barris will take part in the semi-finals of the ITA Midwest Region Tournament. The winner of this tournament will advance to the ITA National Small College Championship in Orlando, Florida on October 9-12.

USI’s men’s tennis doubles player’s Junior Jack Joyce and Sophomore Aaron Burris lost 8-6 on Sunday in the ITA Midwest Region Tournament. USI will begin its spring season in February.

USI men’s soccer came away with a 5-1 victory over Maryville University in their Sunday afternoon game. They gave a strong team effort and had many individual contributions to the win.

The Eagles fell to West Florida University 3-0 during the Dunn Hospitality Invitational, which ended Saturday. Junior Middle Blocker Abbey Winter and Freshman Defensive Specialist Jessica Lee were announced as part of the 2014 Dunn Hospitality All-Tournament Team.

Men’s Soccer fell to Trevecca University 2-0 Saturday. The Trojans scored early in the match and the Eagles never recovered. USI will host the University of Missouri- St. Louis at Strassweg field at 7:30 p.m. September 19, for the first home game of the regular season.  

USI overcomes deficit to beat Ohio Dominican

Eagles Volleyball outplayed Ohio Dominican to win 3-0 Friday at the Dunn Hospitality Invitational. The team overcame two six-point deficits and one four-point deficit for its come from behind victories in all three sets.

The Stegemoller Classic took place Friday at Angel Mounds resulting in a team win with two standouts. Junior Johnnie Guy and Senior Tyler Pence came in first and second respectively with a one-tenth of a second time difference. The team won by 43 points.

USI's girls took home the Stegemoller Classic with a 23-point victory with four top ten finishes. The team will travel to Lexington, Kentucky at 9:10 a.m. September 13, for the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Cross Country Invitational.

USI beat Kentucky Wesleyan College 1-0 Thursday night in Owensboro, Kentucky. This is the first time since 2010 the team has started its season with a victory.

USI, Bellarmine University, Cedarville University, Frontier Community College, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Maryville University, McKendree University, Oakland City University, and Rend Lake College will all be competing in the classic.
