Reynolds named men’s golf coach

The men’s golf program is starting the 2018-19 year off with more than just a fresh start, but with fresh leadership as well. Mike Reynolds is coming on as the seventh head coach in the program’s history.

Reynolds is a Morehead State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in university studies and is still involved with the Professional Golf Association of America (PGA) and the Indiana PGA Section. He is currently serving his second term on the board of directors of the Indiana PGA, serving as the co-chair of the education committee.

While he’s not on campus, Reynold’s is at the Eagle Valley Golf Course where he serves as the general manager/director of golf since 2017. Before joining the Eagle Valley Staff he was the Director of Golf at the Evansville Country Club (2003-16).

Coaching, teaching and mentoring are areas that Reynolds is well-versed in. The proof is in the pudding as he has developed and administered teaching programs that have produced 10 state champions, three national champions, two college champions (including the 1993, 1994, 1995 Rolex Junior All-Americans), and the number-one rated junior player (Charles Howell III).

“I am excited to have Mike join our staff. I know our men’s golf program will make great strides under his leadership,”  Director of Athletics Jon Mark Hall said. “He has shown a definite passion for golf, especially as a mentor.”
