Update: The university has closed campus effective Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13.
The university has issued another emergency RAVE Alert, closing campus for a second straight day on Saturday. Snow totals in the Evansville area are between four and six inches, meteorologists say.
The tri-state has recorded more than a quarter-inch of ice from overnight in some spots, and just over two inches of snow has fallen in Evansville.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Vanderburgh County until 9:00 p.m. tonight. Indiana’s Homeland Security Department has declared a yellow travel advisory for Vanderburgh County.
In an emergency RAVE alert issued shortly before 6 a.m, the university said, “due to hazardous weather conditions, all day and evening classes are cancelled.”
Only essential personnel are required to report for duty.
One campus bus and the West Connection line are running today.
University food services open include The Loft, Sub Connection, Starbucks and the Eagle Express C-store. Food delivery services have been suspended for the day.
Housing and Residence Life Offices are open normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.
The RFWC is currently open and was expected to close at 6 p.m.
