The University of Southern Indiana men, 22-4 overall and 14-4 in the conference, will square off against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside who is 9-17 overall and 6-12 in the conference.
The only times these two teams met was on January 29 when USI won 93-81.
During this game C.J. Trotter and Mohamed Ntumba scored 20 points apiece while the team shot 56 percent from the field.
Leneal Harris led Wisonsin-Parkside with 30 points and Jordan Mach contributed with 19. Even though they shot 53 percent from the field, it wasn’t enough to overcome USI.
The biggest factor for USI when it comes to winning games has been rebounds.
USI has only been out rebounded and lost to a team twice. Against Wisconsin-Parkside, the men had 37 rebounds to Parkside’s 23.
This Saturday, the men will open up Conference play at 7:30 p.m. as they begin their march towards a GLVC tournament and an NCAA birth.
Last year, the men were unable to compete as they were serving a post-season ban. They are as good if not better this year than last.
